Your Bi-Weekly Recycling Day is Same as Trash Day
In Spring 2015, town staff began meeting with Advanced Disposal to discuss improving efficiency of routes and the overall quality of service for residents. Many Huntersville customers currently have a different recycling day than trash day and this created confusion about pickup days throughout neighborhoods.
Recycling Schedule Changes Began June 1, 2015 - Check Now to Verify Your Day & Week of Collection
Beginning June 1st, Huntersville residents will have all three services collected on the same day. Currently garbage and yard waste are picked up on the same day of the week for every Huntersville resident. Schedule changes are coming to bi-weekly recycling the same day as garbage/yard waste as nearly half of all Huntersville customers have different collection days. Advanced Disposal is adding additional trucks to handle these route changes.
Residents will either be on A or B week for recycling on their day of service. June 1st is B Week for recycling. Advanced Disposal is scheduling additional pickups will be scheduled through the first part of June to make sure residents changing days and weeks of collection do not go 2 to 3 weeks without recycling service. See preliminary A and B Week Recycling Maps below:

Residents can keep up with information as it relates to the changes to the recycling collection schedule at www.huntersville.org/recycling. The Town of Huntersville will use this webpage to post information and updates as we get closer to the implementation date. Please watch for maps showing the routes and neighborhoods included. Information will also be shared via social media, email and outreach to HOA’s and neighborhood groups.
Advanced Disposal will collect additional recyclables in clear plastic bags for those affected by the transition.
We thank you for your patience during this schedule change as we feel it will benefit all of our residents and result in better service.
